Many of our girls spent their free time acting as waitresses and dancers at a wedding for an underprivileged couple who got married last week. The couple’s wedding was sponsored in large part by the Ichlu Reim Soup Kitchen. The couple, each from a poor family in Yerushalayim, could not afford waitresses or a large wedding. They were not able to invite some of their closest friends.
Some of the SFW girls heard about this problem two weeks ago and they stepped in to help! They served and cleared the festive meal and, of course, danced in between for the Kallah! They literally “made” the simcha!
In addition, our students asked the soup kitchen if the couple needed anything special as they begin to build their new home. They collected money and bought the newlyweds a gift that they needed desperately: a small oven!
The SFW girls had a great time making an unforgettable day for newlyweds in Yerushalayim!
The Ichlu Reim Soup Kitchen in Yerushalayim (whose name comes from Shir Hashirim 5:1 means “come eat, dear friends”) provides meals to destitute people and families daily. Click here or here for more information about this wonderful place.
