Rav Ari Waxman at SFW

This past Thursday, Rabbi Ari Waxman, Menahel of the Moty Hornstein Institute for Overseas Students at Yeshivat Sha’alvim delivered a shiur at SFW.

Looking in-depth at sources from tanach, Midrashim, Gemarot, the Zohar and others, the shiur discussed the philosophy of Yosef and Yehuda as individuals in the upcoming parshiyot and in Tanach in general, in the Chanukah story and throughout Jewish history.

SFW Israeli Alumni Melava Malka

This past Motzaei Shabbat, we had a Melave Malka for SFW alumni who live in Israel. The Melave Malka took place at the home of Tali (Abell) Wogerlernter (SFW '07, '08) and was organized by Esti Arfe (SFW '07) and Tali.

We saw representatives from every year of SFW's wonderful alumni.

The event was a wonderful way to reconnect with SFW Alumni who made aliyah either directly after studying at SFW or afterwards (some with their husbands and children!). It was great to see everyone, catch up, learn Torah and shmooze!

If you have not been getting our "SFW Alumni in Israel" emails, please email us at sfwisraelalumni@gmail.com!

We look forward to many other events like these in the future!
