Rabbi Larry Rothwachs comes to SFW

SFW had the zechut of hosting Rabbi Larry Rothwachs, Rabbi of Congregation Beth Aaron in Teaneck NJ (and father of Shani Rothwachs, SFW '15). Rabbi Rothwachs spoke about the requirement to eat the Korban Pesach "b'chipazon" and why that can be, under the right circumstances, to be a proper avenue in avodat Hashem. 

We are grateful to Rabbi Rothwachs for taking time out of his busy schedule to share words of Torah and transpiration at SFW.

Rav Goldvicht at SFW

It was a privilege for us to host Rav Meir Goldvicht this week. Rav Goldvicht, Rosh Yeshiva at Yeshiva University, came to Sha’alvim for Women to deliver a shiur about comparisons between Yosef and Moshe and the powerful messages for Galut and Geula.

After the shiur, the Rosh Yeshiva also stayed around SFW after his shiur to offer guidance and answer questions that many of our students had.

Baruch Dayan Ha'Emmet

We regret to inform you of the passing of Joseph Herbert z"l, father of Ellana Herbert (SFW '13). 

The  funeral will take place iyH today, Sunday, 13 Tevet (January 4th) at 12:00 p.m. at Robert Schoem's Menorah Chapel: West 150 Route 4 East, Paramus NJ.

Shiva will be observed at the Herbert residence: 36-02 Hillside Terrace, Fair Lawn, NJ. 

Hours: 12:00-6:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Davening times: Shacharit: 7:45 a.m., Mincha/Maariv at 4:30 p.m.

Stephanie Bergman (SFW '13) Speaks at SFW

On Thursday night, we heard a personal and incredibly inspirational sicha from Stephanie Bergman (SFW '13). Stephanie became ill during Shana Aleph and was compelled to return home to Toronto. Stephanie spoke about that illness and her road baruch Hashem to 100% recovery. But that was only the introduction; she shared with us inspirational messages of Hashem's hashgacha, life's tests and the the gift of giving even while needing to take.
