Shlomo Katz at SFW!
This past week has been quite difficult for all of Klal Yisrael to say the least. At SFW, we thought that an exceptional way to end this challenging week would be to have an inspiring kumzits with SHLOMO KATZ on Thursday night. And what a kumzits it was! Stories, songs, and divrei Torah touched our hearts and souls from this world-renowned singer, song-writer and Rebbe!
A most heartfelt thank you to an ANONYMOUS SFW FAMILY for sponsoring this unforgettable, inspiring evening!

Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha'atzmaut
This past week SFW experienced - together with all of Klal Yisrael - the zeniths and the nadirs of Jewish history, the agony and the celebration of our people.
We mourned with Klal Yisrael as we participated in Yom Hazikaron ceremonies commemorating the dedication and sacrifice of the thousands fallen soldiers of the I.D.F. who died al Kiddush Hashem defending our Homeland.
And we celebrated - together with all of with Klal Yisrael - the miracles and opportunities afforded our generation in Eretz Yisrael and Medinat Yisrael!

All Night Mishmar
With all the Adar Fun we’ve had this week, we have not forgotten the true meaning of Adar and where our true passions lie. “Regular shiurim” have been held all week (though nothing is “regular” at SFW!) and, last night, we had an All Night Mishmar. The girls learned non-stop from 8:00 PM (beginning with Rav Leibowitz's shiur) through davening k'vatikin at 5:30 AM! Kol hakavod to our all-nighters!! The girls, on their own initiative, extended our usual Thursday late-night into an all-night learning mishmar with chaburot and divrei Torah given by the girls!
Yasher Koach and thank you to Yael Steinberg (SFW ’14) and Kayla Zeitz (SFW ’14) for the initiative and planning! Thank you too to our staff members who joined them for all or part of the night:

Tiyul to the South!
We had an absolutely amazing time on our tiyul to the South this past week!
From Nachal Gov to the crocodiles and from Kibbutz Ketura and Mount Tzefachot to the Eilat scenery (and let’s not forget the snorkeling, the boating, etc.) we had an outstanding time bonding with each other and enjoying the outstanding views of Eilat and its environs. In the evenings, we enjoyed the enlightening sichot of Rav Yamin Goldsmith and Rav Baruch Felberman and a scrumptious barbecue!
All in all, we had a wonderful time enjoying Hashem’s land and each other's company!

Tiyul to the Negev!
On Wednesday and Thursday we went on an extended siyur as we explored the upper Negev. We focused particularly on the area of the Ramon Crater including a visit to the visitors center in Mitzpeh Ramon. At night, we stayed at Merchav Am and enjoyed a special kumzitz under the Negev stars!

Bone Marrow Drive at SFW!
This week, Sha’alvim for Women held our own “Bone Marrow Campaign.” Girls over the age of 18 were invited to submit a “bone marrow sample” (a painless swab in the inside of the cheek). If they chose to do so, their information will be sent to the Gift of Life registry which matches potential donors and ill patients who might benefit from a bone marrow transplant.
Our campaign was run by SFW students in conjunction with Kedma, Gift of Life’s Israel agent for registering overseas students in the international bone marrow registry.
